Interim coach can’t provide quick fix in NFL

With Jim Haslett in St. Louis and Tom Cable in Oakland taking over their teams as interim head coaches, Dallas Morning News columnist Rick Gosselin looks at the history of temporary coaches in the NFL.

“There have been 66 interim coaches hired by AFL and NFL teams since [1961],” Gosselin writes, “and not a one has been able to turn the team around and win a championship inside of the same season.” Full story
