Another Kiffin looks to beat the Raiders

Had Lane Kiffin not been fired Tuesday, the Dec. 28 game in Tampa between the Raiders and the Buccaneers would have been billed as the Raiders coach going against his father, Monte, the Tampa Bay defensive coordinator.
Not anymore.
But thanks to Raiders owner Al Davis, the matchup just took on a different appealing storyline. Now Kiffin will get to try to extract some revenge on behalf of his son when his Buccaneers defense goes up against the Raiders. Chances are, there will not be a game on the Buccaneers regular-season scheduled that Kiffin will want to win more.
Davis also pointed out during Tuesday’s press conference that Monte Kiffin wanted to leave Tampa to coach in Oakland, which very well might be true. It’s just rare that facts like that are floated in public, something the elder Kiffin probably didn’t appreciate. He’ll have the chance to express that Dec. 28, in a game with an entirely different storyline than the one that was expected.
