Players on an NFL team’s practice squad do the same things as the men on the 53-man roster — they put in the hours on the field, attend team meetings and have their own lockers. But on Sunday, they don’t sit on the sideline with the rest of the team. Practice squad players can work their way up to the active roster and some do, reports Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Larry Johnson has been a real headache for fantasy leaguers in recent weeks. Due to his off-field issues, he was deactivated the past two games. Then came word that the Chiefs would hold him out of this week’s game against the Buccaneers. Now the NFL has suspended Johnson an additional game (Week 10 at San Diego). With Johnson on the sidelines, Kolby Smith is expected to start and should be added off the waiver wire in most formats. He’s an unimpressive but viable flex option in larger leagues. Jamaal Charles, who’s listed as probable for Week 9 with an injured ankle, will also see his share of carries if he’s active. Despite the fact that he’s killed a lot of […]
Steelers RB Willie Parker is expected to play vs. the Redskins after missing Pittsburgh’s last four games with a knee injury.
Seattle cornerback Josh Wilson only has one tattoo, a depiction of his father’s football card inked directly over his heart. His father, Tim, played in the NFL for eight years and died in 1996 , when Tim Wilson was 11 years old. Danny O’Neil of The Seattle Times writes that Wilson has his dad’s toughness and at only 5-foot-9, is a first-year starter in Seattle.
After not practicing all week, Buccaneers RB Warrick Dunn is questionable with a back injury.
Seahawks DE Patrick Kerney will Miss Sunday’s game vs. the Eagles and is scheduled to have a second look at his surgically repaired shoulder. Meanwhile, LB Lofa Tatupu (groin) is listed as questionable after not practicing all week.

Cowboys TE Jason Witten is listed as questionable vs. the Giants after a broken rib prevented him from practicing all week. Witten will be a game-time decision for the Cowboys, already without QB Tony Romo (finger) and backup RB Felix Jones (hamstring).
Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards said he will be voting for Barack Obama on Tuesday, but not all of his teammates share his political views. There are, however, a number of Bills who share Edwards’ interest in the political process, reports Allen Wilson of The Buffalo News.
Raiders RB Darren McFadden was impacted by a turf toe injury on his right foot for much of the first half of the season. Now, the rookie is listed as questionable with a second toe injury, this time on his left foot, ahead of Oakland’s matchup with Atlanta.
Larry Johnson of the Kansas City Chiefs was notified Friday that he is suspended without pay for Week 10 of the regular season (Kansas City at San Diego on Nov. 9) for violating the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers had the bye week to let his injured right shoulder recover. Rodgers was on a “pitch count” during practice Wednesday and Thursday, and on Friday the Packers listed Rodgers as probable ahead of Green Bay’s matchup with the undefeated Titans.
Both the Colts and Patriots are hurting heading into on Sunday night’s matchup.
Colts RB Joseph Addai is listed as questionable as he attempts to make it back from a hamstring injury that has kept him out of the lineup the last two games. WR Reggie Wayne (knee) participated on a limited basis Friday after having been held out of practice all week, increasing the likelihood that he will try to go on Sunday.
Green Bay dished out the cheese. The contract the Packers signed Aaron Rodgers to is a six-year, $65 million deal that includes $20 million guaranteed, a league source said.
The Broncos have four running backs listed as questionable on their Friday injury report. Michael Pittman (ribs) and Ryan Torain (elbow) both participated fully during the week, while Andre Hall (ankle) and Selvin Young (groin) were limited.
