St. Louis no longer believes Marc Bulger is good enough to start. But the Rams’ decisions on quarterbacks have been, at best, shaky.

The two most interesting names to track as the trade deadline approaches both come from the state of Missouri — St. Louis wide receiver Torry Holt and Kansas City tight end Tony Gonzalez.
Chiefs president Carl Peterson insisted this week he will not trade Gonzalez, and cannot be persuaded to make any such type of deal.

Plaxico Burress should be thankful the Giants suspended him only one game. If New York wanted, it could pursue $6.5 million worth of bonus money in Burress’ contract, as well as escalators that would boost the wide receiver’s contract another $5 million, costing him another $11.5 million.

More info is filtering in on Carson Palmer and the elbow injury that is preventing him from playing today against Cleveland.
Palmer recently underwent an MRI that revealed inflammation but no structural damage.

If Cleveland quarterback Derek Anderson struggles Sunday against Cincinnati, he is expected to be benched in favor of Browns backup Brady Quinn.
And while economic hardships have slammed this country, Quinn’s earning power is about to skyrocket if he is inserted into the lineup Sunday or anytime soon.

Posted: Sunday, September 28th, 2008 | Jim Loftus Tags: Buffalo Bills, Matt Millen
There is an irony to the Matt Millen firing. The last head coach in Detroit that he let go, Dick Jauron, is on the verge of receiving a long-term contract extension in Buffalo.
The Bills and Jauron have had recent ongoing and amiable talks aimed at procuring an extension for the head coach now in the last year of his contract. It is likely to get done given Buffalo’s strong start and how players feel about Jauron.
