Now before anyone goes and has Lane Kiffin fired today, consider this.

There is a school of thought in the Raiders building that owner Al Davis will be keeping Kiffin and will use the press conference today to criticize the media for rumor mongering.

For weeks, there have been a string of stories claiming that Kiffin would be fired by this day or that day. But so far that day has not come.

Now some Raiders employees believe it isn’t coming anytime soon and Davis will not be firing Kiffin today, that he will use his public forum to reprimand the media.

However there are some — a smaller number of Raiders employees — who think Kiffin will be ousted and Paul Hackett will be named his replacement.

But the one fact is this: only Davis knows for sure what he’s going to do. But it either will be keeping Kiffin, which the majority seem to believe, or firing Kiffin and replacing him with Hackett, which a smaller number believe.
