Road trip: Chargers will rack up frequent flyer miles

Get the peanuts, water and personal DVD players ready.

Starting this weekend, with a trip to Oakland, the Chargers will start piling up frequent flyer miles faster than any team in the league.

The Chargers will be road tripping it four of the next five weekends — first Oakland, then off to Miami before coming home to play host to New England, then flying to Buffalo and London to play the Saints, and back to San Diego once again for a well-deserved bye.

Compliments of NFL Network researcher George “Pudding Pie” Li, the Chargers, all together, will travel a whopping 16,674 miles on those road trips. Time for the Chargers to pick up some good DVDs for the long trips ahead.
