Eagles’ offense ailing

Anyone watching the Eagles offense practice Wednesday wouldn’t have recognized it. Half the starters were missing.
Quarterback Donovan McNabb did not practice due to a chest contusion and general soreness. McNabb could return to practice Thursday, but he is beaten up.
Running back Brian Westbrook did not practice due to a sprained ankle. It is sore, but not swollen. Westbrook intends to test the ankle at the end of the week, but he is not limping now and he is optimistic about playing Sunday at Chicago.
Also, Eagles tight end L.J. Smith, guard Shawn Andrews, running back Tony Hunt and wide receiver Kevin Curtis did not practice Wednesday, further depleting the Eagles offense.
The key players should be ready for Sunday in Chicago. But this is a beaten up Eagles offense.
