Bengals sign Fletcher to bolster secondary
Published: September 23rd, 2008 | Tags: Cincinnati Bengals, Jamar Fletcher
Cincinnati needs help at cornerback and is reaching out to wherever it can find it. The Bengals signed former Miami Dolphins first-round pick Jamar Fletcher on Tuesday to a pro-rated veteran minimum contract.
Fletcher has bounced around from the Dolphins to the Lions to the Chargers and to the Texans, where he spent last season. But now Fletcher has a new home and, if active Sunday, his first assignment will be trying to help slow down the Cleveland Browns attack.
