The Patriots were missing RBs Laurence Maroney (shoulder) and LaMont Jordan (foot) from Thursday’s practice. Both players missed practice for the second straight day.

Maroney was injured during the second quarter of Sunday’s win over the Jets, and missed all of the second half before returning briefly during the fourth quarter. Not much is known about the severity of the injuries to either player, but RB Sammy Morris would be the expected starter against the Dolphins with Maroney and/or Jordan out. HB Kevin Faulk and FB Heath Evans are the only other backs on the Patriots’ roster.
