Lovie Smith: Hester ‘is getting better’

Bears coach Lovie Smith may have just held the quickest press conference ever. NFL Network producers say it clocked in 1:02. That’s fast. Apparently the Chicago media had no questions, or weren’t quick enough on the draw. It was tough to tell.

What did come out of that minute was an update, sort of, on the mysterious rib injury to WR/KR Devin Hester. Smith noted that Hester did not practice for the second straight day on Thursday, but that he “is getting better.”

The Bears have been elusive on the specific injury to Hester, the results of a reported MRI exam on Tuesday, and his status for Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay. For now, this is what we know.
