The St. Petersburg Times is reporting that Joey Galloway will miss this week’s battle in Chicago with a foot sprain.
The Times didn’t discuss Galloway’s long-term status, but fantasy owners need to make a move to replace him in the interim and prepare to be without him.
The veteran has been inconsistent in recent seasons, but he’s still had 1,000-plus yards with 13 touchdowns in two seasons in Tampa Bay.
Antonio Bryant will move from flanker to Galloway’s split end spot and is now the most valuable fantasy wideout on the Bucs’ roster. He’s a former 1,000-yard receiver and should be added in leagues with 12-plus teams.
Michael Clayton will move into the starting lineup at flanker, while Ike Hilliard remains in the slot.
In Minnesota, coach Brad Childress has decided to bench Tarvaris Jackson in favor of Gus Frerotte. The veteran has more experience than Jackson, but he’s nothing to get excited about in fantasy circles.
Frerotte does warrant a roster spot in leagues with 12-plus teams or those formats that require two starting quarterbacks, but the Vikings will continue to live and die by Adrian Peterson and the run.
