Lewis still has faith in Bengals offense

One reason Cincinnati has started 0-2 is because its offense has done nothing. Quarterback Carson Palmer has thrown no touchdowns and three interceptions while compiling a 37.1 quarterback rating.
Wide receivers Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh have combined for 11 catches for 129 yards this season. Combined! In the past, those numbers would not be uncommon for one of those players in one game. But now, their numbers are down.
But Bengals coach Marvin Lewis has not abandoned faith.
“I thought they had good weeks last week and they are getting closer to where they need to be,” Lewis said Wednesday. “You have to get going, and we are relying on them, and that is a little bit of an issue, too, so I think it is kind of two fold. I hope this week that they have another great week of practice, we will play faster, practice better, and we are sharper in everything we do.”
It’s not going to be easy. This week the Bengals play the defending world champion Giants.
