Injury woes mount for Patriots

It’s still early in the week, and injuries sometimes change. But there is the first sign of trouble on New England’s injury report.
Neither running back Lawrence Maroney nor running back LaMont Jordan practiced Wednesday. Maroney is nursing a shoulder injury from Sunday’s victory over the Jets, Jordan a foot injury. Maroney left Sunday’s game in the second quarter with the shoulder injury, then returned briefly in the fourth. It should be noted that he did undergo shoulder surgery before the 2007 season.
New England already is without its quarterback, Tom Brady. Now, no one other than the Patriots knows exactly how banged up Maroney and Jordan are. But New England needs all the reinforcements it can get as it readies for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
