Unemployed to starting wideout in one week

Koren Robinson might go from being run out of the league to running with the Seahawks’ starting offense on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams.

Now that Robinson officially has signed a one-year contract with the Seahawks, Seattle can figure out how to deploy him. But with Seattle missing six of its top seven receivers, and with Bobby Engram and Deion Branch not expected to return until after the team’s bye week, Robinson could well find himself in the starting lineup on Sunday

Wow. What a comeback.

It has been one that the Seahawks have been eyeing for more than a week. Last week, Seattle’s director of pro peronnel Will Lewis flew to North Carolina to privately and secretly work out Robinson. Then, once the Seahawks lost two more receivers to injuries Sunday, Seattle flew in Robinson on Monday. He worked out for the team Tuesday and signed a one-year deal shortly after.

Now Robinson, once banished from Seattle and the NFL, is back in the city where he started his career. Let’s hope that his newfound sense of purpose serves him well and the Robinson experiment works as well as Adam Jones and Tank Johnson have in Dallas.
