Hall, Bigby battling injuries for Packers

Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy just updated the injury status of FB Korey Hall and CB Atari Bigby at his weekly Monday press conference.

McCarthy confirmed Hall has a sprained knee and revealed that Bigby suffered a hamstring strain in Sunday’s win over Detroit. He said both were experiencing swelling, and that a better diagnosis would be available later in the week. McCarthy indicated that the status of both players wouldn’t be determined until Friday. Bigby’s injury was initially reported as cramping in McCarthy’s postgame press conference on Sunday.

The news is good for RB Ryan Grant, who has been battling a hamstring injury. McCarthy said the feedback that he got from the team doctor is that Grant came out of Sunday’s game healthy. It was clear to the coach, though, that Grant was out of synch and needed practice time after rushing for 20 yards on 15 carries.

“We’ll see how we progress, and we’ll set a plan for him this week as far as practice,” McCarthy said. But it’s clearly a medicial decision. If we need to sit him down, we’ll sit him down.”
