Bucs LB Brooks active vs. Falcons

Despite not practicing all week due to a hamstring injury, Buccaneers linebacker Derrick Brooks is active for today’s game versus the Falcons and is expected to play.
Brooks has started 193 consecutive games, the longest streak in the league for any defensive player and second only to Brett Favre‘s 254 consecutive games started. This, against the odds, should be 194.
And just as notable as Brooks being active, is this: The Buccaneers designated Jeff Garcia their No. 3 quarterback today. This means that, even though Garcia felt he were healthy enough to practice last week and play today, the Buccaneers have placed him behind Luke McCown on their depth chart for now. The Bucs reserve their right to change their mind for next week, but Garcia’s value appears to be dropping in Tampa.
