NFLPA searching for executive director

In recent days, the name of NFL executive vice president of football operations Ray Anderson has come up in connection to the NFLPA executive director position formerly held by the late Gene Upshaw.
But after the league received multiple inquiries about whether Anderson would be interested, it said he wasn’t.
“The fact that my name has been mentioned as a potential candidate to replace Gene Upshaw is a tremendous compliment,” Anderson said. “But it is also a fact that I am, respectfully, not a candidate for Gene’s position. I love my job and want to continue working with Commissioner Goodell, the NFL clubs, and Gene’s eventual successor to make our league even better.”
So there’s one fewer name now linked to the job. The NFLPA’s search is on.
