RB Johnson scheduled to visit Lions

Free-agent running back Rudi Johnson is scheduled to visit the Detroit Lions Sunday night. Johnson was released by the Bengals on Saturday.

The Lions did claim running back Marcus Thomas off waivers on Sunday. Thomas was a fifth-round pick of the Chargers in 2008. He is currently listed third on the Lions’ depth chart behind starter Kevin Smith and backup Tatum Bell.

The Lions placed running backs Brian Calhoun and Aveion Cason on injured reserve on Saturday.
