Warner wins top spot in Arizona

It’s finally official…Kurt Warner is the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals.
Despite an impressive performance from Matt Leinart in Friday night’s preseason game against the Denver Broncos, coach Ken Whisenhunt still decided to go with Warner as the leader of his offensive attack.
Whisenhunt made the announcement in Saturday’s presser.
Now that Warner is the top man on the depth chart, I think he could be a top-10 fantasy quarterback.
Warner replaced an injured Leinart last season and produced enormous totals. In 14 games (11 starts), the veteran finished with 3,417 passing yards and 28 total touchdowns. Those numbers were good enough to finish in the top 10 in fantasy points at his position on NFL.com.
Warner’s numbers even rivaled those of Tom Brady down the stretch.
With Warner under center, the value of both Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin increase in all drafts.
Fitzgerald, now has a chance to duplicate the 100 catches, 1,409 yards and 10 touchdowns he totaled in 2007. He’s a surefire No. 1 fantasy wideout, especially in those league that reward points for receptions.
Boldin might not be content with the team or current contract, but his statistical potential improves as well.
If you’ve already held your draft, run to the computer now and add Warner is he’s available. For those owners who still have to draft their teams, I’d target Warner as a viable starter in the middle rounds.
He’s also a terrific option in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers.
