Panthers announce cuts

The Carolina Panthers released 22 players Saturday to reach the mandatory 53-man player limit for the regular season. Included in the cuts are veteran guard Milford Brown, who started 15 games for St. Louis in 2007 and safety Terrence Holt who started 16 games for the Cardinals last year.
The list of veterans cut are DB Ricardo Colclough, G Toniu Fonoti, S Terrence Holt, WR Samie Parker, WR Travis Taylor, and RB Labrandon Toefield.
The team also waived QB Brett Basanez, RB Decori Birmingham, WR Will Buchanon, S Joe Fields, FB Troy Fleming, WR Chris Hannon, DT Nick Hayden, G Evan Mathis, DE Stanley McClover, G Reuben Riley, T Geoff Scwartz, LB Tim Shaw, DB Darren Toney, TE Chad Upshaw, and DL Steve Williams.
