Giants waive K Huston, sign 44-year-old Carney

The New York Giants waived 19 players Saturday, including kicker Josh Huston who kicked in the team’s final three preseason games.
Lawrence Tynes, the Giants’ starting kicker last season, has been unable to practice due to a knee injury, leading the team to sign 44-year-old John Carney Saturday.
In addition to Huston, the Giants waived:
QB Andre’ Woodson, offensive linemen Andrew Bain, Kurt Quarterman, Clifford Louis and Na’Shan Goddard; FB Robert Douglas; TEs Eric Butler and Jerome Collins; WRs Brandon London and Marcus Monk; DEs Wallace Gilberry and Alex Morrow; DTs Ogemdi Nwagbuo and Jeremy Clark; LBs Tank Daniels and James Terry; DBs Geoffrey Pope and Darren Barnett.
Three players were placed on injured reserve: QB Anthony Wright (neck), T Guy Whimper (broken foot) and rookie C Digger Bujnoch (sprained knee).
The contract of S Stuart Schweigert was terminated.
