Broncos cut four receivers

The Broncos cut receiver Glenn Martinez, along with Marquay McDainel and Clifford Russell. Veteran Keary Colbert, who signed with the Broncos during the offseason, had been locked in a battle for a final roster spot. Colbert spent his previous four seasons with the Panthers.

The Broncos also cut quarterback Darrell Hackney; tight end Chad Mustard; offensive linemen P.J. Alexander, Dylan Gandy and Mitch Erickson; defensive ends Larry Birdine and Paul Carrington; defensive tackle Steven Harris; linebacker Jordan Beck; cornerbacks Wale Dada and Tyrone Poole; safeties Josh Barrett and Vickiel Vaughn and punter Sam Paulescu.

The Broncos placed tight end Brett Pierce on the waived/injured list, and placed fullback Cecil Sapp and running back Anthony Alridge on the injured-reserve list.
