Hurd injured for Cowboys

The rash of injuries to Cowboys receivers continues. The Cowboys lost wideout Sam Hurd with a sprained left ankle in the first quarter of Thursday’s 16-10 preseason win over the Vikings. Hurd, the Cowboys’ No. 3 receiver, left the locker room wearing a protective boot on his left foot after the game.
Hurd’s injury could leave the Cowboys thin. Miles Austin could miss the next month because of a sprained right knee, and Isaiah Stanback dislocated his shoulder last weekend against Houston. The Dallas Morning News reports that owner Jerry Jones made it clear the team won’t go after a veteran receiver (think Terry Glenn or Joe Horn).
