Dungy expects Manning to start Colts’ opener

All signs are pointing to Peyton Manning starting the season opener for the Colts. Following the Colts’ 27-7 loss to the Bengals in the preseason finale on Thursday night, Indy coach Tony Dungy said he would be “shocked” if Manning doesn’t play in the regular-season opener against the Bears on Sept. 7th.

“I would be shocked if he’s not there (a week from) Sunday,” Dungy said. “He would have to have a dramatic setback. Right now, every step we’ve taken has been good.”
