LT in ’08? Um, ya think?

LaDainian Tomlinson appeared on Sirius Radio’s NFL Channel yesterday to talk about fantasy football. He was promoting another site’s fantasy game. I’m not going to say what site, because, after all, we’ve got our own fantasy product that we’re trying to promote.

Manning out four to six weeks

Finally, some relevant fantasy football news that has nothing to do with Brett Favre. The Indianapolis Colts announced this week that Peyton Manning underwent a surgical procedure to remove an infected bursa sac in his left knee. Rehabilitation from the operation could last as much as six weeks.

RB Jones lands in Chicago

After holding personal workouts and meeting with several teams in the offseason, Kevin Jones has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears. The move almost guarantees another backfield committee in the NFL and makes it even harder for fantasy footballers to pass the running back position in the first round.

Packers won’t release Brett Favre

The return of Brett Favre might have hit that proverbial fork in the road over the weekend, as the Green Bay Packers have told him he will not be released.

Favre asks for release from Packers

The rumors and reports about Brett Favre’s comeback (did he ever really leave?) continue to dominate the NFL and fantasy football headlines. But now it seems like all the speculation is over, as Favre has asked the Packers to release him from his current contract.

Westbrook’s handcuff in question

The backfield handcuff (drafting the immediate backup of your top running backs) has become one of the more popular strategies in fantasy football in recent seasons. While the top two spots of most teams’ depth charts appear to be set heading into training camp, one of the elite running backs in fantasy football could have a different handcuff.

Positive news on Harrison

One of the biggest question marks of the 2008 fantasy football season surrounds the status of Marvin Harrison. The veteran wideout missed most of last season due to knee problems, and an off-the-field incident during the offseason seemed to make him an even greater risk.

Is Anderson cursed?

Mr. Fabiano, like most sports fans, is a big believer in jinxes, curses and other sporting abnormalities. Especially the famed Madden Curse. Anything to get an edge, right? But there is one curse that most fantasy football enthusiasts are overlooking: the all-star curse of Atlee Hammaker.

Forget Favre … Delhomme is the man in Carolina

Seems like we can’t talk about anything in the NFL these days without starting with Brett Favre. As juicy as the Favre rumors may be, however, I’ll just use the Favre story as a springboard to talk about a player who is flying much lower these days, well below the fantasy radar … Jake Delhomme.

Favre, please come back

Retired Packers quarterback Brett Favre has the itch to come back to the NFL. He should scratch it, and comeback to the NFL. Of course this is purely for selfish reasons.

Don’t ‘sleep’ on these three

Here’s the thing about real “fantasy sleepers” — you’d have to be a little nutty to take them anywhere aside from the last pick of your draft. And even then, there’s a good chance you just wasted a pick that might have been better spent on a quality backup running back.

Bucs interested in RB Jones?

Just when it looks like the value of Earnest Graham is on the rise, a report surfaces that brings him back down. NFL Network’s Adam Schefter suggests that free agent Kevin Jones is considering signing a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Such a move would further crowd a backfield situation that already includes Graham, Warrick Dunn, Cadillac Williams and Michael Bennett.
